Arena Pony Cob General Purpose
The Arena Pony Cob General Purpose is a general purpose saddle with HART, designed for broad ponies with wide conformation, for flatwork, jumping and riding out. Arena Wide saddles are now called Arena Cob.
It is one saddle for riders who do a bit of everything with their pony. A front Flexibloc helps you keep your leg in place and your seat balanced.
Your pony can stay as comfortable as you are as their shape changes with the seasons and their work. A saddle fitter can help you set it up. It is made from European leather with a technical, wipe-clean lining.

- Elastiflex tree: flexes with your horse's stride, so their back can swing and move naturally, and helps protect the spine from concussive forces.
- EASY-CHANGE Fit Solution: you or your saddle fitter can change the width of the Elastiflex tree with the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System WIDE (1XW to 4XW), and change the depth of the panel to alter the balance with the EASY-CHANGE Riser System.
- CAIR Cushion System: air cushions stay in contact with your horse's moving back muscles, spreading pressure evenly and absorbing shock so your horse can move freely.

The chart shows the measurements of the Arena Pony Cob General Purpose in each seat size.
Finding your seat size
- Measure the saddle you ride in now, from the saddle nail to the center of the cantle, and compare it with the chart.
- Sitting in the saddle, you should have about a hand's width between your seat and the cantle.
Checking the fit
- Saddle up without a pad, with the girth done up as if you were about to ride. Only do this if your horse is happy with it.
- Stand your horse square on level ground.
- The saddle nail should sit about three fingers behind the edge of your horse's shoulder blade.

Measurements are a guide only. They are rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm and then converted to inches, and the organic shape of saddlery means small differences between pieces are normal.

I have WIDE gullets from my Arena Wide saddle. Will they fit?
Yes. Arena Wide saddles are now called Arena Cob, and they still use the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System WIDE (1XW to 4XW), so the WIDE gullets you already have will fit.Does the Arena Pony Cob General Purpose take standard gullets?
No. It is a WIDE saddle, so it takes WIDE plates (1XW to 4XW) only. Standard plates can distort the tree and are not covered by the warranty.Which riser pack fits the Arena Pony Cob General Purpose?
Pony saddles use the EASY-CHANGE Riser System: Pony/Jump Pack. The Standard Pack and Standard Starter Pack are not suitable for pony saddles. -
Approximate weight: 4.6 kg/10.1 lb. Weights vary a little by size and options. Fitted with a 2XW (lilac) gullet from the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System WIDE, and it takes WIDE gullets only. The EASY-CHANGE Gullet System WIDE: Complete Kit, EASY-CHANGE Riser System: Pony/Jump Pack and EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge are available separately, as are a girth and stirrup leathers. Fit is about comfort, balance and how your horse moves, not one number on a chart, so we would always start with a qualified saddle fitter you trust.

- Clean the leather with Arena Glycerine Soap to remove surface dirt and oil, let it dry, then condition it with Arena Leather Balsam.
- Both come in the Arena Leather Care Pack.
- Wipe the technical lining clean with a damp cloth.
- The CAIR cushions are never adjusted themselves, and opening the CAIR security tape voids the warranty.
